Request for Proposal (RFP): Pilot Procurement of Electric School Buses

NYCSBUS is soliciting proposals from qualified manufacturers and dealers for the pilot procurement of Type A and Type C battery-electric school buses for operational evaluation across the NYCSBUS fleet. This pilot procurement will support NYCSBUS’s broader effort to electrify school transportation in New York City. Selected vehicles will be deployed in real-world service conditions across multiple boroughs and depots to evaluate performance, reliability, data access, serviceability, and operational fit prior to potential future fleet purchases. The evaluation will inform future procurements funded through federal EPA Clean School Bus and Clean Heavy-Duty Vehicle programs supporting large-scale fleet electrification.
